We are looking for an Operations Research Analyst to join our team of analysts who apply mathematical techniques to solve complex problems and develop quantitative based assessments in support of an agency in the Intelligence Community. The analyst will be part of a team that applies scientifically based approaches such as statistical data analysis, knowledge discovery, and repeatable predictive mathematical modeling to complex problems and issues. The team also provides database consultation, graphical data visualizations, and recommendations for quantitative data selection and collection. Job Requirements and
Qualifications:
TS/SCI with willingness to sit for a full scope polygraph
Minimum of a Batchelor's degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience developing analysis or providing analytical support to government clients
Sufficient understanding of statistical/mathematical analysis in order to apply statistical/ mathematical techniques to real world problems
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to help determine the data requirements needed to help solve a given problem or issue
Ability to work with others and ability to explain statistical/mathematical results to non-technical audience
Experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word
Good communication skills, both written and oral
General understanding of databases
Simulation or model building skills
Ability to formulate and ask questions to better understand an issue or problem
Willing to work an entire problem from developing data requirements, to building the database or spreadsheet, to performing quality checks and data integrity reviews, to developing statistical analysis and visualizations, to explaining and briefing results to technical and non-technical audiences and policy makers
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Other Desired Skills:
VBA or programming skills
Experience with ArcGIS
Experience building databases and complex data entry formsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
