TASC is looking for a Nuclear Forensics Technology Assistant Program Manager to work in Lorton, VA.
A qualified candidate will p rovide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS;) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Technologies Department, Nuclear Forensics Office as a subject matter expert in the propagation of prompt signals of nuclear detonations in urban environments, applied to the post-detonation nuclear forensics mission. Provide subject matter expertise to government and military clients. The candidate will: Advise clients on the simulation and analysis of prompt signals from nuclear detonations and on experimental techniques to validate the performance of sensor hardware and software. Translate complex technical topics into documents and briefings for senior leadership and interagency partners. Respond to short-deadline tasks from senior leadership at DTRA, OSD, and Congress. Support program management for the development of post-detonation nuclear forensics technology. Analyze current capabilities and future requirements in order to determine capability gaps and make recommendations to close these gaps. Assist in monitoring contractor performance. Support government acquisition activities, including statement of work development, proposal evaluation, and budget planning and execution. Develop implementation strategies for concepts and procedures to satisfy customer requirements to enhance the nuclear forensics program. Develop and present technical briefings and reports to members of DTRA, DoD, and the Federal Government. Support planning for new initiatives and assist with requirements development and strategic planning. Participate in interagency meetings; lead meetings as required.Required Qualifications:
Must have a current/active SECRET clearance.
Must have or be able to obtain/maintain TS/SCI.
Graduate degree in physics, nuclear engineering, or other relevant engineering field, plus 5
years of experience in at least two of the following:
Electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) transport and sensor response.
Nuclear weapons design and theory of operation.
Gamma-ray transport through complex environments.
Seismic effects of nuclear detonations.
Acoustic effects of nuclear detonations.
Experimental validation of EMP, gamma-ray, or optical
sensors applied to nuclear monitoring applications.
Integration of sensor hardware/software packages(including processing and communications.
Some project management experience is required.
The ideal candidate will clearly demonstrate the ability to work either independently or as part of a team; will demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with other Government agencies, including the Intelligence Community (IC); and will have experience authoring technical/non-technical documents and briefings.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to simultaneously manage several interrelated projects.
Must be willing to travel at least 10%-25%.
Qualifications:
Experience briefing government and military clients at the O-7/SES level on technical topics is desired.
Experience with the DoD planning, programming, budgeting, execution system (PPBES) is desired.
Experience working with DoD, other Federal Agencies, and National Laboratories is highly desired.
Experience working as a Department of Defense (DoD) project manager is desired.
Must be proficient in common (Microsoft) office productivity software.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
