Engineer cyber security engineer The Cyber Security Engineer will support the Integrated Product Team (IPT) as an ISSO to determine requirements, develop specifications, and ensure the security posture of communications systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES Knowledge of RMF, and NIST SP 800-53 controls used in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the CS System Security Plans (SSP).
Conduct initial and periodic analysis and secure configuration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and developmental equipment.
Conduct vulnerability scans using approved scanning tool (ACAS) and analyze results, identify potential security vulnerabilities, and provide mitigations for the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM).
Assist the ISSM in maintaining technical and policy controls in eMASS.
They shall provide information as needed for A&A requirements and reports these items (to include scan results) to the ISSM.
Review vendor proposals and provide technical feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a science, technology engineering, or mathematics field.
Any relevant DoD IAM Level III in accordance with DoD 8570.
01-M or higher network certification (CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISC, etc.
)).
Active DoD Secret clearance or eligible to obtain one Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems Experience working with EMASS, ACAS, and DoD SCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) tool Familiarity with DISA STIGs and ability to assess compliance.
Experience working with SATCOM baseband equipment vendors SECURITY CLEARANCE Active DoD Secret clearance required TRAVEL Some travel is required.
